Replacement of 10 kV distribution station SP-6 PŠK 826 in building No 826

IGNALINA NUCLEAR POWER PLANT (INPP)

Electrical power to the consumers of the industrial heating plant at Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant is supplied through 10 kV switchgear, which is designed for indoor installation (RP-6 POK) and has 16 cells KSO-266-1 in which minimum oil circuit breakers VMG-10 with the spring-loaded actuators PP-67 are installed. All equipment used at the plant had been manufactured by the company Moselektroshchit OAO (Russia) and was installed in 1980.

The main objectives of this project were to replace the morally and physically obsolete equipment and improve the reliability of power supply to industrial heating plant equipment after upgrading.

The project for modification of electric power supply to the industrial boiler plant included the replacement of the distribution station RP-6, consisting of 16 closed-type 10 kV switchgear cells.

AS PART OF THIS PROJECT THE FOLLOWING WORKS WERE CARRIED OUT:

  • Technical design prepared for the replacement of the distribution station consisted of the required drawings, enquiry specifications, technical requirements for the production of the equipment, the required reliability and fire safety calculations, as well as drawings for equipment installation and layout in the premises of the distribution station, and cable-running lists.
  • The equipment was manufactured in such a way as to ensure its optimal integration into the existing industrial boiler heating system.
  • New equipment was manufactured, factory tested, and delivered to the site.
  • Equipment installation, commissioning, and start-up as well as maintenance staff training were performed.

The technical design was prepared and equipment installation, commissioning, and start-up were performed by our subcontractor UAB Elga, which also carried out the training of maintenance personnel.

The training of repair and maintenance staff was carried out by our subcontractor UAB Elga.
